大水綾子

1980年 東京都世田谷区出身

高校までピアニストを目指し、音大を希望していたが転校により挫折。
多摩美術大学生産デザインテキスタイル学科に入学。 教授や友人達の影響を受け
手染め、手織り、カスリの世界にはまり込んで行く。

同大学、デザイン専攻テキスタイルデザイン大学院修士課程を修了後、
八重山上布 新垣幸子氏、経緯絣着物作家 石黒裕子氏に師事。
その後水彩画や油絵などと同じように独自の織物の作品を制作する。

「1900 年代前半まで日本人の着物として愛されてきたカスリ柄には織りあがるまでの
手間暇と大変さに愛と文化と独特な美意識があり、魔力のように取りつかれている。
ピアノで作曲するように作品制作にのぞんでいる」と述べている。

また、自身の手染織作品の他、様々な企業とコラボレーションし、
テキスタイルに関わる空間プロデュース、製品開発にも幅広く携わっている。

≪WORK≫　活動歴（一部）

2007年 「AyaAya」として販売・制作活動を開始。
2007年　Art and Design 展　フィンランド　ヘルシンキ　矢絣作品出展
2008年　フランス、Le Salon サロン・ド・トーヌ　入選。　パリ、グランバレ国立美術館作品出展。
2009年　日経CNBC　Econo woman 絣研究から独自ブランド設立へ～Aya綾　ﾃﾞｻﾞｲﾅｰ大水綾子　BSTV放映
2010年　新垣幸子先生、石黒裕子先生のアトリエで絣手染織の修行をする。
2011年　日本各地での個展をはじめ、服部織物　京都西陣と矢絣のコラボレーション。
2011年 　中国 北京国際植物染め芸術デザイン展 伝承と革新のシンポジウム出展。
2011年～2016年　
　　　　大正紡績株式会社と織物共同開発プロジェクト契約。
　　　　5年間、世界３０か国を回りながら、手染織の作品を発表。
　　　　世界の有名ブランドや世界の繊維ビジネスの現場で世界のテキスタイルを勉強する。

2012年　スペイン バルセロナテキスタイル世界大会作品展示。
2012年、2014年　東北コットンプロジェクトより宮城県庁、仙台空港にて作品採用。
2012年　宮城県庁東北コットンレクイエム鎮魂のタペストリー贈呈式　TV放映

2012年 株式会社アトリエハンドウィーブを設立。
制作の傍らで自身がプロデュースしたカスリ柄プリントの 小物などを百貨店、イベントなどで
販売スタート。

Ayako Ohmizu

Born in the Setagaya Ward of Tokyo, Japan in 1980.
Sought to become a pianist up until her high school years.
Sought to enter a college of music but became discouraged after changing schools.
Graduated Hokkaido Kitahiroshima High School.
Subsequently entered the Department of Product and Textile Design at Tama Art University, her first choice, after coming to the conclusion that a grand piano and a loom resembled each other.
Became increasingly captivated by the world of hand-dyeing, hand-weaving and Ikat weaving after being influenced by her professors and friends.

Completed Master’ s Degree Course in Design at Tama Art University’ s Graduate School of Textile Design.
Went on to study under Sachiko Aragaki, known for yaeyama jofu (fabrics woven with refined Ikat textile) and geringsing creator Yuko Ishiguro.
Subsequently produced original kasuri weaves in the same way works such as watercolor and oil paintings are produced.

Went on record saying “The time, effort and difficulty that leads up to the completion of Ikat textiles, which were loved by the people of Japan up to the early 1900s as a component of their kimonos, has love, culture and peculiar aesthetics behind them. It’ s as if they have some kind of magical power over me.
I approach the creation of my works as if I was writing a song on the piano.”

Began distribution and production endeavors as “AyaAya” in 2007.

In 2008, Worked at Nancy's inc Akasaka as textile director.

From 2011 to 2016, Worked with Taishobo, she learned about world textile and sells organic fibers products over 30 contries in the world.

Established Atelier Hand Weave in 2012 (currently based in Jingumae in Tokyo’ s Shibuya Ward).
Conducts sales of trinkets and other items containing personally-produced Ikat prints at department stores, events, and other venues while continuing her creative endeavors.

Recent works:
Produced collaborative works incorporating Nishijin fabrics from Kyoto and yagasuri arrow-motif weaves in addition to holding her own individual exhibitions across Japan.
Featured exhibit at the Grand Palais national art museum in Paris, France.
Featured exhibit at the Beijing International Plant-Dyeing Art Design Exhibition & Tradition and Innovation Symposium held in China.
Exhibited works at the Barcelona Nateki Style World Fair held in Spain.
Works used at the Miyagi Prefectural Government Building and Sendai Airport as part of Tohoku Cotton Project.
Creates original, self-produced Ikat textile works with a modern look while collaborating with various enterprises.
These works consist largely of woven Ikat textiles and range from specially-ordered hand-woven kimonos made with 100% lotuses and other hand-woven items to printed products.

Won a Best Dresser award 2022, Special award with Mr. Shohei Ohtani Major Leaguer.

2023 Donated her Lotus art work to Nippon temple in Budhgaya India the holy place where Buddha attained enlightenment.
